Expedition Stout

Can I just leave an entry as simply one word – “WOW!”? While that might sum it up – it’s worthy of a whole lot more. Other Russian imperial stouts have evolved to add chocolate, coffee, hot peppers and barrel-aging, Expedition Stout is about as straightforward as a big stout can be. It delivers massive roasted quality like a dark coffee. Full-bodied. Really a first class stout.

Here’s how Bell’s describes Expedition Stout:

Huge malt body is matched to a heady blend of chocolate, dark fruits, and other aromas. Intensely bitter in its early months, the flavors will slowly meld and grow in depth as the beer ages.

I think I’ll take their recommendation and age a couple of bottles of the six-pack I bought last week. Expedition Stout gets 93 points from me.
