Beer #: 529
There is an expression that says that in your youth you have time and energy – but no money. In your middle ages, you have money and energy – but no time and finally in your later years, you have money and time – but no energy. Here I am in the second stage and find the axiom to be totally accurate as I have to fight to find a few minutes to address my passion for blogging about craft beer. A typical blog post usually involves a quick photo on the way up the stairs from the basement beer fridge. If you’ve read this blog for any amount of time, you’ve become familiar with my basement stairs. Once I email it, I spend a precious few minutes writing about that particular beer. It’s only a matter of time before I start to get the “don’t you have anything better to do” look or comment.
Tonight’s time crunch is amplified by the fact that we have a little league baseball game tonight.
I had a Heady Topper (97 points – my # 2) last night so, any IPA that follows will have a tough act to follow. Galactica IPA has a rich orange color and an ABV of 8%. Galactica IPA gives me some nice pieces – sweet malt base that balances the bitterness quite well, citrus hops – but it’s a bit on the thin and demure side and has a clunky bitterness. On any other day, I might put this up a few notches – but for today – I’ll say 87 points.
