Galaxy Dry-Hopped Fort Point by Trillium
Tasting: April 20, 2015
Style: Pale Ale
Beer #: 736
ABV: 6.5%
As mentioned in my post on Square Grouper, this was part of a bottle share with some friends. I think we reached a consensus that this bottle of Galaxy Dry-Hopped Fort Point from Trillium was the highlight of a share that included Focal Banger, KBS, Plead the Fifth, Square Grouper and Ninja Vs. Unicorn.
I’m glad I brought this bottle as my friend had designs on acquiring a number of bottles from Trillium via a friend attending Extreme Beer Fest in Boston last month. A few guys (including me) gave him $100 to return with some goodies from Trillium’s second anniversary release. Unfortunately, the friend of my friend overslept and missed the entire event. Karma struck later as we hear that this guy waited for a pour of the legendary Canadian Breakfast Stout only to have it run out a few people ahead of him in line.
Galaxy Dry-Hopped Fort Point from Trillium pours a beautiful cloudy amber. Despite this bomber-sized bottle being four weeks old, the hops tasted amazingly fresh. I will also note that it tastes larger than just a pale ale – more like an IPA. Galaxy Dry-Hopped Fort Point from Trillium delivers luscious tropical fruit in the form of mango, pineapple and peach.
I love, love, love it- Galaxy Dry-Hopped Fort Point rolls into the upper echelon of my list at 97 points.
