Great Divide – Titan

Tasting: October 8, 2011
Style: IPA

This is one of my old favorites and I cannot believe that I haven’t rendered an opinion about Titan in my blog. Really a great example of what I’ll call a moderate IPA. It comes in at 7.1% ABV with an IBU a little on the light end of 65. That moderate IBU is a bit deceiving as it really puts forth a grapefruit and pine nose and initial taste. If you want bigger — look for other IPAs or an imperial IPA. This one is certainly assertive. Nicely lingering hop profile here. I’ll have to keep this one brief as I’m supposed to be making dinner tonight. All I can say is this goes great with chopping scallions and microwaving chicken nuggets. No doubt 87 points.
