Harpoon – Celtic Ale

Tasting: March 10, 2012
Style: Ale (Red)

I was at a party today and the cooler choices were Guinness Stout, Sam Adams Boston Lager, Coors Light and Harpoon Celtic Ale. I haven’t had a Celtic Ale so, I gave it a go. I’m writing from memory while having it a couple of hours ago. I thought it was very “grainish” like lightly roasted with biscuit and subtle caramel. Very mundane – no dominant flavor and frankly subdued flavor all around. A little awkward finish with sour (not bitter) aftertaste. I didn’t really enjoy it, so I went for the Guinness next. I’ll give this one 75 points.
