Left Hand Brewing – Stranger

Date: May 20, 2011
Style: American Pale Ale

My oldest son is left-handed. One minute he celebrates being uniquely special, the next he bemoans being an outcast. Of late, he’s started saying “left-handed people are smarter than right-handed people”. Well considering how he manipulates his right-handed parents — it may be true. I’m guessing someone at school gave him this nugget, but I’m afraid of someone taking exception to his boast.

Well, let’s see if a left-handed beer is superior or not. Poured with my left hand into my trusty pint pub glass, this ale is a rich amber color. I get bread on the nose. Really no flavor at first. Sad that the only sensation is cold and wet. I get some lingering bitterness — but that’s basically it from this very demure ale. Eventually, I get some bread/grains and the mild hop bitterness. It reminds me of Hazed and Infused, something that might be better enjoyed on a hot day, but I can’t see reaching for this with either hand. I’ll give it 75 points.
