Tasting: June 27, 2012
Had Mikkeller Texas Ranger Porter at Mohawk House in Sparta as an aperitif before what turned out to be a great anniversary dinner with my wife. I found it to be a little thinnish but really interesting flavor. It’s made with chipotle pepper and that flavor is really dominant. I’d call it as being a mildish jalapeno heat mixed nicely with undertones of earthy hops, smoke, dark chocolate, and coffee. Very unique and very enjoyable. I’ll put it at 88 points.
