Java Chip Mint Stout by Odd Side Ales

Tasting: October 8, 2914
Style: Stout
Beer # 628

What’s interesting about Java Chip Mint from Odd Side Ales?:

· How did I get it: Came to me from along as extras in a deal that featured Westbrook’s Mexican Cake coming back my way.

· Vitals: 6.0% ABV, Brewed with coffee and peppermint tea.

· Name: Brewery opened in 2010 in an old piano factory.

· Availability: Not found in New Jersey. Seekabrew.com says only available in Michigan.

· Other acclaim: 87 points Beer Advocate.

A little on the thin side but I guess viscosity might be a lot to expect from a 6% ABV beer. Really does taste like mint chocolate chip ice cream. Mint shines right through. A bit of a novelty and I’ll call it a so-so 84 points.

Very watery and fizzy. Not as nice as Java Chip Mint Stout. Actually not that good – 72 points.
