Been a few months since the pops got together to enjoy a few beers and exchange some new beers to critique. The theme — summer beers. The meeting place — The Cloverleaf. I had 3 more holes punched in my MBA (Master of Beer Appreciation) card. I didn’t particularly like any of them: Lancaster Strawberry Wheat (65 points); Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA (83 points) and Flying Fish Farmhouse Summer Ale (73 points). I also had a few samples like Thomas Hooker Watermelon Beer (nice aroma, terrible taste – 59 points). My other disappointment was ordering a Bear Republic Apex only to be told that the beer was off the menu. Beerwise, the night wasn’t a total loss — I did enjoy a draught Stone IPA that was infused with mango and cascade hops via a Randall (87 points)
