Tasting: October 8, 2013
Beer #: 494
Viridis – adjective: green, young, fresh, lively youthful
Lupulus – species of hops
This cork and cage bottle has been in my fridge for about a month and some sediment has collected on the side of the bottle. Alcohol by volume clocks in at 7.5% – just about right for a twenty-first century IPA.
Pour is cloudy as this beer is unfiltered. This one is totally one dimensional and not a very good dimension at that. Viridis Lupulus offers no complexity whatsoever, no malt sweetness to balance. It is pure and simply just bitter hop flavor that lingers on and on. Not a fan – 70 points. Down the drain it goes.
